Thank you for reviewing our Privacy and Security Policy. Back to Hope is committed to protecting your privacy. This Statement of Privacy applies to the Back to Hope web site and governs data collection and usage at all Back to Hope sites and services; it does not apply to other online or offline sites, products or services. Please read the Back to Hope Statement of Privacy. Back to Hope is a general audience web site, intended for users of all ages.
Who we are
Our website address is: https://backtohope.com.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We collect information about your activities that does not personally identify you. The information we collect may include products you purchase, content you view, the length, time, and date that you viewed that content, and location information based on your IP address. This information is used to enhance your experience on our website. If you would like to opt-out of being a part of this data collection, there is a plug-in for Chrome browsers to do so here: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/181881?hl=en
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Back to Hope will be offering an email newsletter. You will automatically be added to our newsletter list unless you choose to opt-out. As you go through the checkout process there is an “email opt-in” box located the bottom of the “shipping” page. Please unclick the box to indicate that you do not want to be included in our email newsletter. If you do agree to be part of our newsletter, you can change your mind at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the newsletter.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Your shopping bag contents are stored in “cookies.” A cookie is a small file placed on your computer’s hard drive by a web site. As you shop, the “cookie” records each purchase and the price in your shopping bag. Without the cookies, the shopping cart cannot “remember” all of your items. As a result each time you leave the cart to continue shopping, the items disappear. Cookies will also remember the items added to your cart so when you return at a later time they will still be there. Back to Hope DOES NOT store any personal information in the cookie. A cookie in no way gives sites access to your computer hardware or software or any information about you. We simply create a cookie to store the items in your shopping cart.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Who we share your data with
Back to Hope does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties.
Back to Hope may access and/or disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Back to Hope or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Back to Hope, including its Web site; or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Back to Hope or the public.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
